Beaches, sun, nightlife, sangria and tapas… Spain is the perfect destination for “farniente” while visiting the magnificent monuments, eating delicious tapas, drinking sangria and enjoying the lively nightlife (because the Spanish are big partiers). And in addition, some cities are not even too expensive, such as Seville, our great favorite! Barcelona is also a MUST SEE course.

Traveling to Spain

To go to Spain for cheap from Europe, Ryanair offers many flights to many Spanish cities.

Speaking English in Spain

We recommend that you learn some Spanish words before you go in Spain because unfortunately the Spanish people are well known for not speaking English well. You may have difficulty making yourself understood in the bus, for example …

The pace of Spanish life

It’s better to know to avoid bad surprises! Spanish live at a different pace than Northern Europeans. They start the day very early, then around 2pm they have an interruption (perfect for siesta), and then they start again to work in the afternoon from 5pm to 8pm. They take a drink at 7-8pm and eat dinner only at 10pm. They go out in nightclubs from 1-2am. So, between 2pm and 5pm, the shops are closed and the streets are usually deserted (except for tourists) …

The nightlife in Spain

The Spanish know how to party and bars are plentiful. You will quickly notice: in the evening, if you go to a bar or club, you will collect tickets for a free shot (chupito in Spanish) or other promotions. This is how the nightclubs and bars are trying to attract customers. You can easily take an almost free pub crawl. But do not expect to get drunk with that, because the shots are cut sharply into the water!

Some cities, such as Madrid, also offer pub crawls for 10 or 15 € … except for the atmosphere and to meet other international, it is a scam because you do some bars with free shots, but would still be free without going through the pub crawl!
